NIOS D.El.Ed Study Centre: National Institute of open schooling popularly known as NIOS has declared the admissions of diploma in elementary education. The elementary teacher education program by NIOS through distant and open learning aims at providing the target group to develop their skills, attitudes, competencies, and making teaching more effective.

NIOS deled program by the education board is a 4 quadrant channel program that helps students by providing them with video lectures, study material, interaction with the course coordinator, and self-assessment. Candidates are now able to know the details of their study centers through the direct links given below or through the official website. There will be a resource person allocated at each of the centers who will conduct PCP classes on holidays and Sundays.

NIOS D.El.Ed Eligibility for Primary Classes

  • It is important to provide intermediate or senior secondary school or it’s equivalent having 50% marks
  • 2-year diploma in education or 2 years of diploma in elementary education or 4 years of bachelor’s degree in elementary education

NIOS D.El.Ed Eligibility for Upper Primary Classes

  • 2-year diploma in elementary education and graduation
  • Graduation should be a minimum of 50% and 1 year of bachelor in special education
  • Senior school secondary certificate or intermediate or their equivalent with minimum 50% marks and 4 years of bachelor’s in elementary education

Important Points for NIOS D.El.Ed Study Centre

  1. Teacher’s that are teaching at the primary level which is in class 1st to 5th should have passed 12th standard with a minimum 50% marks and should have deled.
  2. Teacher’s that are teaching at the upper primary level which is in class 6th to 8th should have passed graduation with deled or should have done graduation with B.Ed.
  3. For teacher’s that are graduating with B.Ed and wants to teach the students at the primary level, there is a 6-months bridge course recognized by NCTE needs to be done.
  4. For ST/SC/OBC/PH candidates, there is a relaxation of 5% marks for admission in class 12th.
  5. Teacher’s that belongs to general category needs to have a minimum of 50% marks in the higher secondary exam and is also eligible for admissions into the deled course.
  6. If the teacher is only a graduate then he/she is required to have a professional qualification degree which is deled for teaching at the elementary level.
  7. Also, the NIOS is offering an 18-month deled program using ODL for in-service untrained elementary teachers for the recognized private/government/government-aided schools.
  8. Deled is compulsory for all in-service teachers at the primary level and for graduate teachers at the upper primary level. This is because of the necessary requirements mandated by NCTE under the RTE act, 2009.
  9. For 10th failed candidates, there is no provision on the NIOS portal.
  10. Also, special provision has been prepared as a one-time measure only for teachers to concurrently register themselves for the deled course and higher secondary exam through NIOS.
