Meghalaya Scholarship 2019-2020: The Meghalaya Scholarship is offered by the Government of Meghalaya to bright and meritorious students to pursue and finish their education. Meghalaya Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children – Pre matric Scholarship

  • Candidate must be domiciled in Meghalaya
  • Candidate must be pursuing class 9 or 10 from a recognized school
  • Candidates must belong to ST

Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children – Postmatric Scholarship

  • Candidate must be domiciled in Meghalaya.
  • Candidate must be pursuing class 11 or above.
  • Candidates must have completed their class 10 (matriculation).
  • Candidates must belong to ST.

Meghalaya Border Area Scholarship

  • Candidate must be domiciled in Meghalaya, in Border Area.
  • Candidates must belong to ST or SC.
  • Candidates must be pursuing a regular course from a recognized institution.
  • The parents or guardians of the candidates must be Indian Citizens.
  • Candidates should also not be employed in any government or non-governmental establishment.
  • The candidate must not be a repeater.

DBT Research Associateship in Applied Biology and Biotechnology (NER)

  • Candidate must be domiciled in Meghalaya, in the North Eastern Region.
  • Candidate must possess a P.hD or must have completed MS or MD with a keen interest in life sciences and biotechnology
  • Candidate must possess an excellent academic track record.
  • Candidates must be less than 40 years of age (45 in the case of a woman and in-service candidates).

Special Scholarship Scheme Ishan Uday for NER.

  • Candidate must be domiciled in Meghalaya, in the North Eastern Region.
  • Candidates must have completed their class 12.
  • Candidates must have secured admission in a technical, professional or a general degree course from a recognized university.
  • The candidate’s total annual income must not exceed INR 4,50,000.

Combined Counselling Board Scholarship

  • Candidates pursuing diploma, U.G or P.G are eligible to apply.
  • The candidate must have cleared their last qualifying exam with 40%-50% marks.

Meghalaya Scholarship Rewards

  • Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children Pre matric Scholarship – Selected candidates will receive financial aid.
  • Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children Postmatric Scholarship – Selected candidates will receive financial aid.
  • Meghalaya Border Area Scholarship – Selected candidates will receive financial aid in the form of a subsidy or grant.
  • DBT Research Associateship in Applied Biology and Biotechnology 
    • Selected candidates will be awarded a stipend between INR 36,000 to INR 40,000.
    • A research contingency grant of INR 50,000 per annum will also be provided to the host institution.
    • A contingency of INR 28,000 per month is given to MD, MS, P.hD candidates toll the award of the degree.
    • Candidates will also receive HRA and other benefits.
  • Special Scholarship Scheme Ishan Uday for NER
    • 10,000 scholarships are disbursed every year.
    • The monthly amount of INR 5,400 is awarded to candidates pursuing general degree courses.
    • The monthly amount of INR 7,800 is awarded to candidates pursuing technical, medical, professional or paramedical courses.
    • The scholarship is renewed every year based on the candidate’s academic performance and good conduct.
  • Combined Counselling Board Scholarship – Selected candidates will receive a scholarship amount between INR 1,00,000 to INR 3,00,000.
