Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be responsible for conducting JEE Main 2019 seat allotment in 7 rounds. The authority will allot seats to those candidates who satisfy the prescribed cutoff and meet the eligibility criteria. However, for taking part in all the 7 rounds of seat allotment, applicants have to first register online. The registration will begin in the second week of June 2019 tentatively. The successfully registered candidates will then be allowed to participate in the counseling and seat allotment process. Procedure of JEE Main 2019 Seat Allotment

The qualified candidates of JEE Main have to go through a number of steps in order to take part in the seat allotment process of JEE Main 2019 and these steps are briefly elaborated below:

Step 1 – Online Registration

This step is the most important one as without registration no individual will be allowed to participate in the further process. The qualifiers of the entrance exam have to register themselves online using their roll number and password.

NOTE – Only eligible candidates will be allowed to register or else the application will face rejection.

Step 2 – Choice Filling

Upon successful registration, candidates will be able to fill the choices of course and college as per their interest and preference. These choices should be in the order of priority

Step 3 – Locking of Filled Choices

Candidates after filling their preferred choices have to lock them before the given deadline. If any applicant fails to lock the choices then the authority will automatically lock the previously filled choices of that individual.

Step 4 – Mock Allotment

Before the final seat allotment, the authority will conduct the mock allotment which will be on the basis of choices filled. The mock allotment will let students attain an idea regarding the seat allotment process and in addition, it will also help them to make better choices in the final seat allotment.

Step 5 – Allotment of Seats

The authority will allot seats to candidates depending upon the rank obtained, choices filled and availability of seats. There will be a total of 7 rounds of seat allotment.

Step 6 – Seat Acceptance

Once the candidates will be allotted a seat they have to choose either of the following options:

Freeze: This option is selected if an individual is satisfied with the allotted seat and they do not want to take part in further rounds of JEE Main Seat Allotment 2019.

Float: This option is used by the candidate when he or she wants to keep the allotted seat and also wish to upgrade their seat.

Slide: An applicant goes for this option when he or she wants to keep the allotted seat and wish to upgrade the course in the same institute.

Withdrawal: In case the candidate has accepted the allotted seat and then he or she wants to withdraw it then it can be done by reporting at the allotted institute before the last round of seat allotment of JEE Main 2019.

Step 7 – Payment of Fees

Applicants who are satisfied with the allotted seat and need to confirm it has to pay a required amount of fess. The payment can be done through e-challan or Net Banking. Aspirants belonging to General category have to pay Rs. 45,000 while aspirants belonging to SC/ST/SC-PwD/ST-PWD/GEN-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD categories have to pay Rs. 20,000.

Step 8 – Verification of Documents

Candidates have to visit at the allotted venues and produce the required documents for verification. The list of documents includes the following:

JoSAA 2019 Eligibility Criteria

JoSAA 2019 Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main Paper 1 and 2, JEE Advanced and Complete Procedure

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria – The qualified candidates of JEE Main and JEE Advanced have to register for JoSAA 2019 in order to attend the counseling. The authority will accept the applications of those applicants who meet and fulfill the JoSAA 2019 Eligibility. JoSAA 2019 Eligibility for JEE Main Paper 1

Candidates who have appeared in JEE Main Paper 1 must satisfy the following requirements for participating in JoSAA 2019:

  • Applicants must have obtained a score above the prescribed cutoff in the Paper 1 of JEE Main
  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the following subjects Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject.
  • Aspirants belonging to general category must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 75% while aspirants belonging to SC/ST category must have obtained 65%.

JoSAA 2019 Eligibility for JEE Main Paper 2

The interested applicants must fulfill the following eligibility to take part in JoSAA 2019:

  • Candidates must have qualified Paper 2 of JEE Main by scoring marks equivalent to or above the released cutoff.

SC Scholarship 2020 West Bengal: The scheduled caste (SC) students are given SC Scholarships to allow them to pursue their higher studies without any financial constraints. A variety of SC scholarships are provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Empowerment, Government of India, along with their state-level affiliates. The purpose of these scholarships is to provide adequate financial assistance to economically disadvantaged and meritorious students. An SC scholarship is split into the pre-matric, post-matric, national fellowship of Rajiv Gandhi and scholarship from overseas.

SC Scholarship – Objectives and Coverage

By providing full financial support, the Scheme seeks to identify and encourage quality education among students belonging to SCs. The program will protect students from SC to follow studies above 12th grade. The system will operate in all schools approved by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

A scholarship will be awarded to SC students who secure admission to the notified institutions to meet the requirements for full tuition fees and non-refundable fees (there will be a ceiling of Rs. 2.00 lakhs per year per student for private sector institutions and Rs. 3.72 lakhs per year per student for private sector flying clubs for commercial pilot training and type rating). Books and stationery @ Rs. 3000/-per year per student and the latest computer with accessories such as UPS, Printer, Multi-media limited to Rs. 45000/-per student as one-time support during the course.

The Institute will provide the award winners with computers and supplies. Alternatively, the Institute may also consider reimbursing the costs of buying the computer from a student. Only Rs. 45,000/-given, the software and accessories are purchased from a reputable manufacturer/supplier. Due to adequate results, the scholarship, if granted, will continue until the course is completed.

SC Scholarships Eligibility

Students from the SC who have obtained admission to the approved institutions in compliance with the requirements specified by the respective institutions shall be eligible for scholarships under the system to the sum of the number of scholarships allotted to the respective institutions. In the case that the amount of admitted students meets the number of awards, the grant will be limited to the highest in the inter-se merit list.

The remaining SC students admitted to the college in various courses shall be eligible as a federally funded scheme for the Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) administered by this Ministry, given that such students are otherwise eligible for the scheme. In the event that the Institute finds that the number of eligible candidates in the 1st year is less than the number of scholarships allocated to it, the balance scholarships may be offered to students studying in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year, etc. one of the inter-secondary merits of the results of the previous year, giving priority to those with a higher number of years left to complete their respective course, i.e. 1st year to get priority over the 2nd year and so on.

Thirty percent (30 percent) of the slots allotted to the Institute shall be reserved according to their inter-se merit to deserving SC girl students. In the absence of a sufficient number of girl students, the slots may be allocated according to their merit to deserving by students. Moreover, the 30 million slots as stated above will not include girl students chosen on the basis of their success in the Institute’s overall merit list of SC students.

If there is more than one student with equivalent marks for the last available slot in an institution; priority may be granted to the student with the lowest parental income.

The Scheme’s advantage will not be extended to more than two siblings in a household. Students must send an affidavit in the Institute to this extent and confirm that he/she is not the family’s 3rd sibling who profits from the Program.

The total annual family income ceiling for all sources under the Scheme shall be Rs. 6.00 lakh and the general selection criteria for any institution’s eligible candidates shall be the merit. Furthermore, if there is more than one candidate with equivalent marks for the last available slot in an institution; priority may be granted to the applicant with the lowest parental income.

The scholarship will be paid immediately after a student has obtained entry and has started attending classes. If the student fails to pass the final exam, the scholarship will be canceled. Nonetheless, he will still be qualifying for the Post-Matric Scholarship.

This SC scholarship is offered by the Indian Government and implemented by the State Government or territories of the Union (UT). There are 2,000 scholarships awarded annually to students of SC. Students should be enrolled in the University Grants Commission (UGC) recognized universities. The fellowships are for M.Phil and the Ph.D. in particular.

National Scholarship State Schemes

Same as the central government, the state government also awards scholarships for students who are the residence of their particular states. Various state governments run their scholarship portal where students can apply, but some prefer drawing applications through the National Scholarship Portal. Now, the national scholarship portal holds state schemes of six different states, i.e., Bihar, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh.

How to Register for National Scholarship Portal?

To register for NSP Scholarship Registration students need National Scholarship Application Form and they also need to follow the below steps;

  • Students registering for NSP scholarship for the first time (Fresh Students) have to “Register” on the National Scholarship portal as a fresh applicant by providing correct and authenticated details as mentioned on their documents in the “Student Registration Form”.
  • The application form is expected to be filled by parents/guardians of scholars who are below the age of 18 years at the time of registration.
  • Before starting the registration process, students /Parents/guardian are recommended to keep the following certificates handy:
    • Educational documents of the student.
    • Student’s Bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch
      Note: For the pre-matric scholarship scheme, where students do not have their own bank account, parents can provide their own account details. However, parents’ account numbers can only be used against scholarship applications for a maximum of two children.
    • Aadhaar number of the Student
    • If Aadhaar is not available, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School and
    • Aadhaar Enrolment ID or Scanned copy of Bank passbook
    • If Institute/School is different from the domicile state of the applicant, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School.
  • Details to be filled in the application form are;
    • Date of Birth (DOB)
    • State of Domicile
    • Scholarship Category
    • Name of Student
    • Mobile Number
    • Email Id
    • Bank account details
    • Identification Details
  • After submitting the application, the default login id and password to log into the NSP portal will be sent to the provided mobile number. In case the password is not received, the option for forgot a password at the login page shall be used.
  • Students are advised to provide “Annual Family Income” as per the Income Certificate issued by a competent authority in their scholarship application.

In the case of Existing User

  • Apply for scholarship renewal with your ‘Application Id’ and Date of Birth which you registered previous year.
  • A student can also use ‘Forgot Application ID’ to retrieve their ID.
  • Only those students would be able to renew who had actually received the scholarship payments during the previous year from NSP.

The Mission Mode Project (MMP) under the National e-Governance Plan of National Scholarships Portal tries to present a common computerized portal for executing many Scholarships schemes begun by Union Government, State Government and Union Territories across the nation. The main goals of NSP are;

  • To present a common portal for several Scholarships plans of Central and State Governments

Question 4.
How to submit the online application? Should I need the user id and password to apply for a scholarship?

Answer:
Applying procedures for Scholarship Schemes for both Fresh and Renewal are given below:

  • Fresh: Student has to Click on the option “Student Login”, on the home page of the National Scholarships Portal. Fill up the application as per the instructions are given by the system then click on the Save button. After saving, the student will get a “Temporary ID”. The system will instruct the applicant to submit his/her Temporary ID and date of birth to fill subsequent details. Once registration is complete on click of submit button, a Permanent Registration ID is generated which can be used for Renewal and tracking the status of the application
  • Renewal: Renewal Students have to apply with their Application Id and Date of Birth which they registered in the previous year. Students can also use Forgot Application ID to retrieve their ID.

How to track the status of my application?

Answer:
An option “Check Your Status” is available once you log in with Application Id and DOB.
